Youth Sunday SchoolYOUTH SUNDAY SCHOOL

Wakonda offers a youth Sunday school program from September thru May while school is in session. Sunday school begins at 9:45 and ends around 10:30am, allowing families to attend either 1st at 8:30am or 2nd service at 11:00am.

There are 3 age divisions for Sunday school:

Sonshine - 3 years of age thru 5th grade
SonShine is for our youngest learners in Christ. As the children arrive, they'll receive a warm welcome from our dynamic leadership team! Once they've had their donuts, they'll get to choose their favorite "warm up" station to begin their Sonshine experience. Warm up stations offerered are; Crafts, Computer Lab, Library, or Game Room. From there, our youngsters move to music, then spend the rest of the time in like-age groups learning a Bible story using a unique rotation approach that incorporates cooking, drama, crafts, storytelling, and games.

Chi Rho Grapple - Grades 6 thru 8
Chi Rho (pronounced ki-row) will get the chance to experience a curriculum designed especially for them. This age group shares an inquisitive mind with an overwhelming desire for real relationships. Grapple plunges them into the Bible to get answers to their biggest questions about God, others, and themselves. It delivers Bible truth that speaks their language.

CYF - Grades 9 thru 12
Sunday mornings are a special time for this age group with great fellowship and though provoking discussion about timely topics and the scriptures that speak to them. Christy Webster, Peter Renda, and Tom Webster will be our leaders for this dynamic set of youth!
AwanaAWANA WEDNESDAY NIGHT PROGRAM

Awana is back again this year at Wakonda and will meet from 6pm to 7pm. For nearly 60 years, Awana has been a leader in children’s ministry, helping churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. More than 12,000 U.S. churches run Awana with programs in all 50 states. Awana can also be found in over 6,000 churches in 109 other countries. The founders of Awana derived the Awana name from the first letters of Approved workmen are not ashamed as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15 of the Bible. More information about Awana can be found at the Awana website.

Awana
SPARKS - Grades K thru 2
The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The three handbooks feature:

Basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible
A clear and consistent presentation of the gospel message
An increased emphasis on Scripture memory over our preschool materials. In three years, a child will learn and review over 65 verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine, establishing a foundation of biblical wisdom.

Awana
T & T - Grades 3 thru 5
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through sixth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today.
